It didn't work for me first time but after reading the post on the proxmox forum i got there in the end.
I wonder why you didn't put these in the post.
rm -rf /dev/as0t0
vzctl exec VEID mkdir -p /dev/net
vzctl exec VEID mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200
vzctl exec VEID chmod 600 /dev/net/tun

As this was needed for me. anyway thanks again.

Thank you so much for putting this together. I tried installing it with other how-tos and failed miserably. Your steps worked in my first try.

Thanks for saving many hours.

Hi, thanks for this nice wrapup. I agree that Proxmox is an astonishing product, even considered its price ;-). I am looking for a VMware Server replacement, and Proxmox is it. I do hope they get payed enough to keep this ball rolling, all commercial users should donate imho, I will.

(sorry for my english, this sux! But not have other way)
For the start redmine on the boot i have make one change in command for crontab.

original:
@reboot cd /opt/redmine/redmine-0.7.2 ; rm -f log/mongrel.pid ; mongrel_rails start -e production -p 3000 -d

change:
@reboot ln -s /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock /tmp/mysql.sock ;cd /opt/redmine/redmine-0.7.2 ; rm -f log/mongrel.pid ; mongrel_rails start -e production -p 3000 -d

This because after restart system always get ERROR 500 Internal, a symbolic link was removed when system is shutdown. The new command create one new link.

I read other pages about installation the redmine, but this is the best, easy and fast.

Congratulations

and thx

Is there any way to make it works with venet ?
Because on some hoster like ovh.com, the pre-install version of proxmox, and the additionnal ip failover works only with venet interface ... ? Any ideas to make it works ?

Thanks

I've also had my eyes opened to Proxmox VE but still recently forced myself to try some alternatives. I've had to do this in order to evaluate each for my clients.

Xenserver 5 is very nice but I really do not like the fact that in order to get all the available server management features you have to install a windows based application on a pc on the same subnet as the actual server.

Esxi is also worth a serious look & I'll probably dabble with that next.

Truth is though, in particular since Proxmox 1.2 has just been released, I'll probably go back to Proxmox to stay at least for my personal use. It's so so easy to install, setup & use & has been perfectly stable for me evn when stressed with multiple vm's running.

I still look forward to the upcoming version 2 with enhanced drive management support & hopefully much better & easier to implement vm usb support.

Proxmox is a keeper.
